Discover
Competitor Analysis

This competitive analysis will assess the usability strengths and weaknesses of Dinkm’s competitors. It will examine UX/UI elements by highlighting transferable best practices found on the competitors' websites, supported by relevant screenshots. The insights gained from this investigation will offer valuable lessons that can be summarised and then implemented in the project.

Survey Findings

I used Google Forms to send out a survey to Male and female users aged 18 to 35, who constitute our primary target audience. I instructed them to look through the website before completing the questionnaire. I came up with a series of 10 questions centered around 2 main topics:

What are the main reasons a user would be attracted to an eco-friendly eGift card website -

The aim is to gain insight into the most important aspects of an eco-friendly eGift card website

Is the current website users friendly and what improvements should be made -

The aim is to identify opportunities for improving the user interface and user experience of the dinkm website.

Develop

Dinkm's platform was built in WordPress. Some of the pages were coded all from scratch which we could have total control over but others were limited by what functionality specific plugins offer.

Reflections

Reflecting on the Dinkm project, I recognize the value of incorporating more extensive user testing into the design process. While our initial testing provided valuable insights, finding more participants to test our prototype would've likely presented an additional perspectives and potential refinements. Furthermore, addressing miscommunication regarding Dinkm's specific business goals was an important learning point. In future projects, I would prioritize more in-depth discussions from the beginning to ensure a comprehensive understanding of Dinkm's vision and objectives.
